That's awfully good, Andy. You've got my vote...and it was interesting to see this develop over time. Best wishes, Traveller

The mutant sunflowers grow many heads, smaller and taller. So i havent staged this.

Olaf, i haven't been following the tour. However, i do have opportunity to go and have a look on Sunday (stage 15). It is a busy time for me because we leave france for five weeks on tuesday (visiting family in scotland). On return, we have three wks unitl returning to Oz.

Voting starts in less than 24 hours! You have until 2AM Wednesday to get "fixed".

Being situated in France, do you follow Le Tour de France at all? Pretty interesting things going on, especially seen with Danish eyes!

Olaf, I much appreciated yur earlier comments. Having reshot this i agree this isnt as good. Sunflowers do not point to the sun as i thought and just face the same way all the time. Hence it was a very bad time to try and shoot them since they all point the same way. I may have another go tomorrow morning. Its fun anyway.

Please, please put back the orignial! This is nice too, but the bright colors and unusual composition in the original was way more interesting!

To be honest its no big deal to reshoot. Its just around the corner. Its just around every corner at this time of year.

There is another way to balance this, you could use the clone tool and add a bit more of the horizon (tree and hill) just under the petal that exposes the sky, this would give you the str8 line you are looking for.

Wow, this is beautiful. Bright, summery and bold. I wish we had masses of sunflowers around here....if I'm lucky I'd see one poor, struggling specimen a year!

Horizon is of course on a slope. Straightening it would be a reshoot because ive got no leeway on the left. If ive got time will reshoot today.

Did you notice how the dark center of the main flower is shaped like a heart? Due to this fact, I would have liked a teensy sliver more on the left...

First of all, you can add me to the fan-list of this photograph! (*) I think a polarizing filter could possibly have made this even better, I'm thinking in the leaves of the flowers, whose color is a bit dull, military green (too warm WB?).

Lonnit, I think this is actually level and you are looking at a hill! The stems of the sunflowers are close to being vertical, same goes for the trees in the background.

Yes, I really like the image too, but the tilted horizon is also driving me nuts. ~ Lonnit

Love the subject and the way you've treated the flower in the foreground. But the slanted horizon is driving me crazy. As I look at this if you rotate to level the horizon then it will look like the flowers are leaning to the right. I don't know what's worse!

Andy this is a very good shot. Sun flowers are very odd , I first thought it was some sort of toy.

Thanks for commenting Vikas and Lee. For once it is not a crop, except for a shace off the right edge.

WOW, what a beautiful scene Andy, really really lovely. The wonderful colours, the sky, the main sunflower cropped just right, make it a great shot.

Cheers, Vikas.
