Green Tree Python*

(Morelia viridis)

What can you do if you need f/22 in order to get a reasonable DOF
at 180 mm and want to use the lowest possible ISO in the dim light
of your zoo's snake exhibition?
Flash would not be a good idea for animal photography at all.
So you have to use long exposure and a tripod.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Yikes, the mites in the periocular tissue kill it for me, that poor thing. I have a chondro myself, beautiful animals.

Wonderful work!! (Wish I knew how to take long shots. Maybe I'll try with inspiration gained from this and others!) Shu

Dear Gerald:

I kind of expect the night work...but this is a fine example of a long shutter speed during the day. Very good and nice detail throughout....Love that eye...

Best Wishes,

Traveller

Grant, you were a bit too fast for me with your comment. Editing the image description and completing all data took me a minute ;-)
