This is a Stick-Up*

Okay. I posted this earlier in the week, then later took it down,
as I was under the impression that others found it boring. (Zero comments.)
But I decided that I still like it, so am putting it in again.
I like the repeating colors and shapes, and the pattern in the background.

oops, my bad Melanie. And I'm even a forester :0. Our dogwood are not nearly so red, just our willows, so I made a bad assumption! Cindy

Thank you Andy and Cindy. Andy, usually I do post what I like, regardless if they get comments or not. (But sometimes I suffer from bouts of self doubt and start removing things. Either that, or I start removing things because I lose interest, or simply don't have the time to participate.) A couple of images I've placed in various forum challenges never received a single comment, but received enough votes to place. And some images I post just for laughs may get several comments, but that's it. Cindy, this is actually Redosier dogwood, a common streamside shrub in the northern rockies. It's stems and leaves are opposite from one another, whereas willow stems are alternate from one another. Lots of willow here too. --Melanie

The background is lovely with the subtle colors and shadows. These new spring willows can be very red. When seen in the landscape - bright red even. Believe it or not I have a bunch of these branches in my bathroom - for decoraton :). Getting back to nature you know? lol. Cindy

Zero comments might well mean that people find it boring. I encourage you to post whatever you find interesting. If this were ten feet high, framed and placed in the foyer of microsoft headoffice with an appropriate colour scheme nobody wuld think it boring. Everything has its context, even if you are the only that sees it. I like it. Andy
