Angela and Thubleau, thanks for your comments. I have tried both of your ideas, yes, both would be an improvement. Before making any changes to this image, I shall try to repeat the shot during the weekend from a slightly different angle in order to create a better composition. I hope there will be the same lighting conditions as today. -Gerald
Wondeful image and I love the translucent effect on the tulips .
The only thing I would have done was to lop the photo off just to the left of the foreground tulips.This would have given them extra length and taken the background tulip out of play..

Oh that backlighting!! Lovely. It really serves to illuminate them beautifully while providing super saturation.
(*) My one peck here is the two tulips in the bokeh. To me, they compete with the importance of the two main stars. I took this into PS and did a wide panoramic crop just above the background tulips to just show only the top two -- in my opinion it really pops them that much more (especially against that great green background!) and makes it so the eye doesn't wander to the less important two in the lower part of the frame.
