Great collection of textures and shades of red

I've been looking at this one now for several days. I think it's a goldmine. I like the quiet energy it has without the aid of a living being present.

What I like most is the many differetn materials blending so well together here: brick, wood, metal, vinyl, cement. Lots of contrast, lots of interest.

I agree with Shu about your eye. Clearly you've an eye for color and texture. Go with it!

(*) If I had spotted this, I'd have composed exactly like this, then upon seeing it on the back LCD of the camera, perhaps would have chosen to zoom out a bit more to show more of the bricks and the red doors, while composing the chairs in the lower left hand corner of the frame. Maybe 135-150mm would have done it. I think my reasoning behind this is that the chairs are unoccupied, but so tight in the frame, it creates a contrast to their "story". A bit more room around them in the composition would really showcase them better. In my opinion, anyway :)

Keep in mind, I love this photo just as it is -- I'm merely typing as I'm thinking here.

To me, cropping this image has improved the composition so that nothing more is needed. It's very delightful. What a great start! Obviously you have an artful eye and that's what separates the men from the boys. Welcome. Shu

Thanks for the comments. This is my first entry into these contests (only been taking photos for several months) and am looking for all the advice I can get to improve my shots.. I've adjusted the crop and agree that it improves this image.

I like your image and the composition. I agree with theblue about cropping to the horizontal line at bottom of image. Markjay

Nice clear shot Cabiling.
I would have maybe just cropped a little off the front to the expansion line.
Just something else for the future.
When I get a shot like this I always look for something extra or exceptional to add to the shot, like a child or adult or a toy and maybe even a contrast colour, just to give it that extra bit of omph.
