"Poster Child" caliber dialogue below. It doesn't get any better than this...

You're most welcome! Thanks for not biting my head off!

Again, very very cool idea for a shot.

Angela, you're definately not stepping on my toes. I use this challenge as a learning tool and your feedback as well as others is what I look forward to.
I really like the changes you made and I prefer to leave your photo for display to show how images can be improved. I tried your workflow on my computer and it worked great.
Thanks for the valuable feedback, Larry

Larry, your recent edit is heads and tails better than it was before. Let me also say I think this is a very creative idea and you've carried it out really really well.

(*) One nit: It still looks a slight bit (and I do mean slight) underexposed and still favors blue tones in the reds. I understand you're going for a cold feel, but those reds just don't do justice to how I'm sure the peppers really looked.

Here's a quick edit I did, I really hope you don't mind:

The steps I did were:
- open
- dupe the layer
- curves and used the white dropper to set a white point in the background
- curves (set one dot on the curve line, then set another dot and dragged it to brighten the photo, and also to create more contrast.)
- auto leveled just to see if that would work, and liked it. (this also got rid of some of the blue tones in the reds.)
- Flattened.

Anyway, all that took me about 5 minutes. If it's totally off from your original vision, don't pay any attention to my comments. :) Also, send me a message (click on my name and hit Send Message to let me know if you want me to remove your photo from my site.

Again, I sincerely hope I'm not stepping on your toes here.

Angela.

Thank you all for your feedback. I made some of the suggested changes and like the results - Larry

Larry, like some of the others, I think the background is too blue or underexposed.
The shot reminded me of one of my own from a previous challenge. Take a look if you wish:http://www.pbase.com/cslr_challenge/image/24161676

Larry, I like your photo a lot, but (*) I feel (even with the title) that the area outside of the bowl could be less blue and it might be just a bit better. -Earl Waud

Before reading your title (and perhaps letting it sink in a bit), I was going to comment on your white balanace. Nice clean-n-crisp image. The center composition and straight-down angle make it a bit static. Might try a more olique shooting angle.

Dear Larry:

This is a smart idea, well executed. The chilli pepers and ice is just great.

BTW, good reds also.
