Took this one in a really dark room on a mirror. Using two flashlights for lighting. White balance set on a white piece of paper. Used one LED flashlight which had little blue hue to it.

Thanks very much Olaf.dk. I really appreciate your comments. Yes it was a taken on a table top, I decided to keep the background as black as possible considering the many flaws the background had, like reflections on the mirror from other objects in the room, it wasn't taken in a studio setting. At the beginning I tried to get some clear ice, but that wasn't going to happen any time soon, but then I kinda liked the detail in the ice, so this is what it became.

Someone commented somewhere else that the water looked like mercury - here it really does! I like this shot a lot, but would have liked some kind of differentiation between the tabletop and background. Maybe it is all tabletop? Anyway, my critique is that the ice cubes appear to be "detached from reality" - floating in space. --Olaf.dk
