Thanks all for your kind comments. Lonnit is right, those are air bubbles. The vase was hand made out of blown glass.

So it was part of the composition that I didn't understand, that's what I like about photography. It takes me out of my left-brained world of clean lines and hard edges into a world of shadows and textures.
Those are air bubbles in the glass indicating it is blown glass. Bubbles are a characteristic and not necessarily a flaw. Cheap glass doesn't have bubbles. ;) ~ Lonnit
This is the one I keep comming back to. It's really amazing. Are the two ovals on the vase lip reflections or imperfections in the glass? They are distractions (very minor ones) to me.
Amazing and beautifully done. The composition is perfect coming out of the bottom left corner and reaching to the right upper one. I love the look of the vase from this perspective.. really great

This should be blown up huge, and hung on a wall. Very, very nice!
