oddly, i just bought this lens and was testing it this morning... not an innovative shot, but i liked it.

Nice image. I like the composition and dof. (*)Softer lighting would have been more pleasing to my eye.

I like the way the inside of the bloom appears to be glowing yellow, and the little immature bloom in the back somehow reminds me of a shower head. The crop seems a little off somehow... Maybe too centered, yet not centered enough... Not sure. The colors in this make it very nice.

The light is too hard at 9:30AM in a bright sunny day. Try the same picture half an hour before sunset or in a cloudy day and you will see a big difference in the colors. Andres

Wow dahlias in October, no chance over here. Great dof. Watch out for overblown highlights.
