Larry,
Great shot. I think the mix of the super saturated red contrasts nicely with the more natural color of the hinge. It works well. Roberta

I like the simplicity of your shot. Strait forward. The roughness of the wood adds depth. I usually don't like over saturated colours, but this works beautifully.

Great detail shot. Is it really that red?

(by the way -- I noticed it right from the thumbnail) ;)

Better, much! I do think that made the composition more solid.

Thank you all for the comments and feedback. I cropped a little more off the top as Angela suggested and I like the results -- Larry

Great shot, well seen and presented. Have to agree with Angela about the cropping though. Cheers.

Rustic! A very visually appealing shot. The contrasts between the red and the dark brown in the wood grain due to age are awesome. Not to mention the contrasts of the wood and the metal of the hinge.

(*) If this were mine, I'd crop a little off the top to bring the composition a little tighter around the hinge. Fantastic either way.

You have a good eye for finding something simple that is photographically appealing. Markjay

This shot has a certain feel to it that really attracts me. Can't put my finger on why, but isn't the bottom line of our photography to produce something that people are attracted to look at, for whatever reason. Good job. Susan

Definitely has a graphic feel to it - but in a new way I would not have thought of myself! --Olaf
