I note with interest that each set of two intermeshing gears is made of different materials. I've read that gears last longer when one of the pair is softer than the other. I suppose that is what is going on in this case. Anyway, the differing colors adds to the interest. -- Victor

Hi all. This is not the same clock I've had in previous challenges. It is the same as the one with hands in this challenge. The other one is an 18 century grandfather clock - my favorite. Ann
