Ditto on what Shu and Olaf said, except for the pills. I think that white bottle is too distracting, too white, covers the candleholder. But a beautiful shot nonetheless.
Thanks both of you. You are both right that I saw these flowers in the light and had to grab my camera. I think it was getting ready to have breakfast when I took the photo. Yes, Olaf, the pills are Echinacea. I only take them when I feel a cold coming on. They do seem to help. This day I didn't take any. They were just sitting there. I was feeling just fine. Ann
A typical Ann Chaikin! I feel the joy you felt when you noticed the beauty of the light on the vase and tulips - and just had to take a picture of it... Ordinarily, I would say that the other stuff on the table and the houses in the background were distracting, wishing for a more shallow depth-of-field and a tidier tabletop, but that really would be a whole different photograph! To me, the stuff on the table gives the photograph that documentary, diary-like quality, so typical of you. It really helps me in experiencing the joy you felt when you saw this, and the spontaneity of taking the photograph. Those pills for example, are another puzzle piece in my mental picture of you and your life. I have convinced myself that they are some kind of natural supplement, like Echinacea, Q10, or Omega-3 for example. Just one of the secrets behind your very active and youthful lifestyle? --Olaf.dk
