Olaf: Thanks for brigning it up! If you count from the front and go clock-wise, only the 2nd and sixth stamen are perfectly in focus and thats where the plane of focus is. Also the stigma (center) is laying down and not actually perfectly in the center. No I did not do any PS blur, only levels and resize for web.
This one is easier on the eyes than the orchid. Beautiful abstract which makes me think of some underwater universe as well. I'm a little confused by the plane of focus: you have all six tips sharp which seems to indicate they are all in the same plane. I would think the central, seventh "leg" (don't know what it is called) would be sharp at one point as well, but it is not. Did you apply some gaussian blur after the fact? --Olaf
