Early Flight *

You know you're taking these challenges seriously when you get out of bed at 4am on a Sunday to drive 50+ miles just on the off-chance of catching a decent image.
Despite event conspiring against me - I tried to park and realised I had no money; I found an ATM and for the first time in my life could not remember my PIN. So, I ended up parking 20 minutes walk away and hoping that I hadn't missed anything...

The colors and contrast of ballon sizes make this a wonderful picture! This is a great example of how time and effort pays off. - Larry

Thanks all, I am especially pleased with this as it's pretty much the full frame (just a little cropping of sky at the top) which means the image I was aiming for in-camera was pretty much what I got, instead of the usual "extract that tiny bit from a huge frame" that I often end up with! Phil

Phil,
Your efforts really paid off. This is just stunning. I love the sense of scale created by the balloons in the distance against the large balloon in the foreground. Wow! Lots of great colors and the sky is gorgeous too. Roberta

Look!... Liliputian baloons are landing on Gullivers! -Byron

I like this of the three best. This has a less conventional crop and composition to it. Very nice morning sunshine colors, and sharpness. -Ed Hahn

Thanks Iso. Shadowy balloon? What shadowy balloon? :)

I quite like this one. Nice slab of colour - pity the far off balloon is more shadowy in the distance. If they were all vivid this would be a real winner. I'd very much like to go to a balloon meet like this, but most times I'm up at this time it's because of a teething toddler! Got any more to share?
