The Love of My Life*

Now she's my wife.

When I took this photo we'd been together for three and a half years - and we were still infatuated!

Actually, I carefully reconstructed those slide edges in Photoshop! - thought it was kind of fun. I was making a black frame when I accidently got it wider on the vertical edges. That inspired me to make it even wider and then add the holes and lettering... Scanner? Minolta dimage scan speed F2800 (film scanner) with the Minolta software (Photoshop plug-in) that came with the scanner. It's a pretty good scanner, usually, but it doesn't have digital ICE or anything like that, which is a pain (time consuming to clone out the inevitable dust and scratches). Now if the slide edges are too distracting for you, how about cropping them out by resizing your browser window, and then telling me what you think of the photograph? ;-) --Olaf

What scanner and what software? Was there a reason for leaving the edges? The picture doesn't work for me that way. -- Victor

Don't really understand why, but I had the hardest time with scanning this slide.
I got posterization in the skin tones and hair, even though I scanned in 16bit color.
I am not perfectly happy with the fix, but my time is a very precious resource.
