Karthik, Thanks for allowing this image. If I had intentionally done this pose to try to push the rules I would withdraw it because my aim is to respect the rules. Since it was done innocently (he initially struck the pose and I just captured it) I am opting to keep it in as you have not opted to disqualify it and I don't have time to reshoot. I do think in all sincerity that it does qualify because it is shot above the waist. Thanks for allowing it. And again, great choice of challenge topics! :) ~ Lonnit

I was arguing myself if this image qualifies. I can see the leg is raised above the waist and the image is framed above the waist. My whole intention with that restriction was to minimize the number elements available for the artist to work with and yet to come up with a winning image. IMHO, while getting a leg up is a clever idea to get around the theme, I can't see it as a true competition for winning entries. Anyway, my final decision is this image qualifies and I'll leave it upto you to make your best decision.

- Karthik.

In color it looked bad - really noisy & pixelated. Converting to BW can salvage shots. I think this is one of the shots where the flash, bounced off the ceiling, didn't fire. I had to push the brightness way up in the RAW file to even really see the details. I liked the pose and couldn't bear with trashing it, so I attempted to salvage it. I was very pleased with the end results. ~ Lonnit

I think it has a linen paper effect. Beautiful. How does it look in color, I wonder.

Lonnet--I agree that the "dirtiness" adds an another dimension to the image and the pose is very appealing. Shu

Tomas - The rules were to shoot above the waist. This was shot above the waist. :)

Iso - I liked it's dirtyness. I felt it gave somewhat of a look of being printed on silk. Just seemed kind of earthy to me.

Also, there's a leg in the image, which obviously disqualifies it being below the waist :-) TomasC(x)

What's happened to this Lonnit? Quality looks a bit suspect. Tramlines and solid shadows in it? It's nowhere as clean as the other shot you entered.....
