That's what's characteristic of chrome - it takes on the colors of its surrounds, but not like a chameleon (which would have taken on the yellow of the car instead). Simple and effective composition. I think the weakness of this photograph is that on its own, taken out of context, it doesn't say much. As a detail shot in a book on classic cars, it would work beautifully! --Olaf
