Look, There *

A composite - my first ever posted! - of two images, obviusly with different focal points, but taken one after the other (though I guess I could have taken them hours apart...)

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
1/100s f/22.0 at 70.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Yes, it's more to the left and also closer to the top (in the original the sky was quite pretty so I left it in, though it didn't really help the overall composition!). There isn't another version anywhere at the moment. Phil

I would love to compare it to the original. Do you have the original posted somewhere? If my memory serves me right, the church is now more to the left. I really like the idea because it so directly addresses the theme by making the hand an active player in the image viewing.

Cool idea.

Johnathan, many thanks for you comments. I've cropped much tighter now, which I think is an improvement. Phil

I like the image conceptually. I would have placed it pointing close to the edge and top. That way the viewer would follow the finger of to an acute position, not a location usual for the central theme of a photo. This would make the point of the finger as a pointer even stronger. As it stands, we travel beyond the finger to the church too quickly.
