Thanks for the feedback. It's always a personal thing to shoot sculpture; there are two reasons IMHO to do so. One is to communicate the view of the artist, in which case a full view is used. Another is to elicit a different interpretation, viewpoint, or to communicate details that are lost in the overall view. In this case, I was trying for the latter. The hands, themselves, are interesting to me. Artistically, it is not very different than the original intent, you are correct.

The background detracts. Also, where is the value added. Essentially the same statement you are making was made by the original artist.
