Grand Canyon

I was watching the sunset at the Grand Canyon in September 1990 when I spotted these two kids on the pinnacle. I was lucky enough to have my Canon T90 Loaded with Velvia and mounted with an FD 300mm f/4 Lens on a tripod. I wondered how they got there and how they were going to get back. Then they jumped. One after the other as easily as I step up on a curb.

Thanks for all your comments and your votes. This image was all about being in the right place at the right time with my gear ready. I could not have anticpated it nor could I repeat it. Sometimes we just get lucky!

SOME people [pause for effect] don't feel they are living unless they put their lives on the line... I guess these folk belong to that category. Nice shot - good timing! The slow shutter speed works very well here. --Olaf

This scarey, but fascinating, image is really great. You really get the feeling of helplessness from the leaper and and wonder about the "have lept" figure on the right. The pic would be funny, if one didn't feel the gravity of of the situation. Shu
