I owned a family knitwear factory which I ran for nearly forty years and sold a year ago. It has now closed. Over here just about all knitwear is now imported although in the good days we sold to people like L.L.Bean in Freeport, Maine who I think you will probably know of.
The picture was compiled for a portrait taken through competition and shows Shima knitwear machinery plus general junk just before closure. The guy taken through the cone of woollen yarn operated the knitting machines. Not very inspiring except a memory for me but as I said Joe, just trying to keep the oar in until I get a new Canon slr-hopefully soon!! :o) Peter
Peter: You have me guessing a bit about the machines and the face visible at the end of the cylinder. I like the wide-pano perspective, find it oddly appealing, though in honesty I don't know what I am looking at. OK, UK pen pal, fill me in (*sMiLe*). --Joe
