I've got a Jupiter F2, and a Takumar F1.4 M42. I've been thinking about going this route myself. I think being forced to use manual focus again will slow me down and think more before pressing the shutter. Have you a gallery with other stuff in?
Thanks guys. Olaf, I have been a Leica user, and one of the reasons I picked Canon is because the EF mount can take many older manual lenses that I have, including Leica R mount, and Pentax M42 screwmount. Some older lenses are terrific bargains. The optics of these lenses are on par with the best of today's tech, and yet they are dirt cheap. You can get a Russian Jupiter-9 85mm f/2 for $40, and most likely you will end up with a real winner. Pentax made some excellent screwmount lenses as well, and they are also very very cheap. For what I do most of the time, I really don't mind manual focus and stop-down metering. Why pay extra money to get new gear, when your old stuff still works? - Jing

Makes me feel I'm high up in the sky - flying! Jing - you always have these non-canon lenses listed in combo with your Digital Rebel. Care to explain? --Olaf
