I have an explanation of how this was done. If you like the mystery don't click it. I'll tell you this much: this image was minimally processed in Photoshop. What you see is mostly what the camera saw.

I can't see the explanation at the moment, but the previous comments have given mem enough clues, and I think that *adds* to the image, not detracts. Good stuff. Like many here, my wife is now giving me the "What's the challenge this time?" looks and comments as I disappear into a darkened room... Phil

Incredibly cool effect, brilliant idea. It does cry out for a PSed spacecraft emerging from the center :-)

Just like me, you seem to enjoy doing what you're not supposed to do and, that's partly why I like the image so much... aside from the fact that it looks awesome! With every one of these "challenges", I learn a new trick. Now I don't feel like an old dog anymore. he he Thank you for sharing your method.
