Thanks again for the nice comments!
Markjay - you'd actually be OK in this room, all the sharp bits are on the outside! :-)
Craig - I don't remember exactly what I did, the image was high contrast to begin with and it got more so by increasing contrast, adjusting levels and also sharpening in several steps with both small and large radius. The B&W conversion was just desaturation.

I keep coming back to this one, it's such a neat perspective, and the B&W is quite stark. Did you do anything special in converting to B&W?

Very cool!
When I saw the thumbnail I had no idea what this was. As soon as I realized the everyday-object I was even more astonished!
Great work!

I love photos with nice contrast and this in b&w fits the bill. Very nice shot giving us a look where we don't normally look -- Tabs

Very interesting use of an everyday ojbect. Like the way the light reflects off the metal surfaces, bringing out their features. I think padded walls would be safer, but not as visually appealing ;-) Markjay

Fret--Very clever image. I found myself looking at it over and over. I like the B&W
version best. It really shows off the patterns. Shu

MUCH better!!! Great stark contrast here.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll stick with the b&w picture, I like the slight mystery of what it shows (secret is destroyed by the carrot picture though, and I can't edit it out). I might re-shoot next weekend if I get some time, I'm a bit bugged by the fact it's neither centered nor in a strong 1/3 position. I played with the idea of putting in a person in the far center position, it really strengthens an illusion of a room or hallway. If I can make it look right I might do that.

Very very cool, love this B&W version, have always been a fan of B&W and this is one of tehe better examples. Brings out the patterns even more so.... Vikas

I love the one with the carrots, but OTOH, the empty one makes one think for a moment what it is. But the carrot one is so nice with the bright color. No wonder you couldn't commit! LOL! ~ LOnnit

iso3200, thanks for your comment! I found a new take on this though, so I decided to change the picture. For the record, here's the picture you commented on, I'd be happy to hear any comments on which to choose!

Grate idea, grate execution. The human element and the carrot really add to what could be just a standard shot otherwise. The internal reflections are interesting, and the whole thing is just grate.
