Victor, it's called smocking, and usually used on little girls dresses. It's intricate and time consuming, also quite hard on the eyes, which it's why I no longer do it.

Very nice Gayle. I love smocking and the composition and lighting are wonderful as usual.

What is this craft called? I've seen it before, but I've never known what to call it. -- Victor

Yes I agree with Karl, that the pink thread is perhaps too well focussed. However this is a very eye catching picture and I like it a lot.

Gayle, I like the composition, and I think this is another one of the more on topic pictures, but from the focus, it appears that the scissors and thread are the subject, when I think it would look better with the work in focus, and the scissors and co blurred in the background, as the props they are meant to be?

Ralph, yes made by me, although not recently. This challenge gave me a reason to revisit an old interest. Thanks for the comment :-)

Gayle,
The pattern on the scissors is very interesting. Nice choice of props. So is this something hand made by you?? Nice image :)
