Anna,
Your cropped version is great and gives the images much more drama. Roberta

Olaf, that's what I like best with these challenges, when someone gives a constructive comment on how to make an image better. Teapot also made a comment about the OOF coils and I just combined both of your views into this crop. It's more fun to get feedback and modify than to compete, actually.
Thanks again/Anna

Anna, not that I disliked your first version of this, but this is definitely better! No doubt a better crop than my example! Like I said, that wasn't really that interesting photographically, but it did show a more literal interpretation of a pattern. I wasn't really suggesting that you should change your image, just saw a possibility for whole different kind of image in that part of yours and wanted to share my observation... --Olaf

OK Olaf, here's another crop. Teapot I'm sorry but I can't get any smaller than 172K for this one.

For a more literal interpretation of the pattern theme, abeit maybe less interesting photographically, this shot could be cropped like this:

I'll remove the linked shot, if you'd like. It's just so much easier to explain crops with examples, rather than with words! --Olaf

Anna, your image is above the 150K size limit. Can you reload a smaller version if possible. Thanks, Teapot.

You're right Teapot, the lighting was too dark for a handheld and f8 or higher would have been better. I always thought about bringing the tripod to the zoo but my laziness always wins :-)

Beautiful snake Anna. Is it an emerald tree boa. A friend of mine had one but I never got around to photographing it. A little more DOF keeping the front coil in focus might help an otherwise excellent shot.
