I've come to look at this again, as I am looking through all the images before voting. As great as I think this one is, I don't think it is to be classified as a pattern-shot. Sure the tiger's stripes is a pattern, but the pattern is not an important element in this shot. This photograph would be just as strong had it been another, more uniformly colored big feline. [Just explaining why I won't give this shot more than an honorable mention] --Olaf

Great shot! The tiger is keeping ONE eye on you, PRETENDING to not care... The direct eye contact really makes this shot special! --Olaf
Excellent shot. I don't think I agree at all about this guy letting his guard down. I think that's what he wants you to think, but to me he looks very much aware and he's pondering how to make you dinner! You guys seem to think you'll be guests, not the main course! LOL! ~ Lonnit

I really like this shot. The tiger seems very calm and you almost get a glimpse of his personality...almost like he let his guard down. Roberta
