Santro,
I would prefer that you leave your image in the gallery if it's ok with you :) Roberta

I agree there are many images in the gallery that stretch the definition in various ways. I'm sure it's open to interpretation anyway, not many use purely complementary colors. Why not let your picture stay in the gallery anyway, it's a very nice image.

Hmm, I'm not too confident about deleting this without making a mistake and deleting someone elses work. Would the moderator remove it please? Ta - Santro

Yep, I know where you're coming from - but Yellow and Red are a similar distance apart on the colour wheel to say the Red and Blue that appears in many of the other entries. Perhaps I'm reading too much into the literal translation of "complementary" which is defined as "to make something else seem better or more attractive when combining with it". I'll delete this entry and try again :(

OK, there's a bit of misunderstanding here. Go back and look at the rules for this challenge at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1019&message=7635446. The term Complementary Colors means opposite colors from the color wheel, not complementary as in "colors that go nicely with each other". That's why you see pictures with contrasting red-green, orange-blue or other color pairs.

Mmmm. I wondered if many people were going for "contrasting" colours rather than "complementary". I was trying to find shades that complemented each other hence the narrow colour gamut in this image. I'm glad you like it however :D - Santro

I agree with Anders on the colors but it is beautiful, delicate and very appealing! Roberta

haha, well I was going for red, yellow & cream? Each to their own I guess eh? :) Santro

Really pleasant to look at... don't see complimentary colors, but great image nonetheless.
