Roberta,
Thanks for the comment. I tried quite a few angles, both camera angles and sun angles. Unfortunately, unlike the orange pepper, which glowed nicely when backlit, the green and red ones didn't. If fact, I couldn't find a combination that worked the way I visualized the shot. I ended up having to use fill flash. I really don't like using flash, and in this situation, without a flash filter, you get specular reflections of different temperatures.
I also have a pond and will experiment with shooting the reflection of the sky instead of the sky directly, in order to darken it and also get a different camera angle. I guess I should also shoot with a polarizer, although I don't have one for this camera yet. This could be a good excuse to go get one. A polarizer would probably improve both the sky and the fruit.
Victor,
The interesting shapes and vibrant colors of the peppers make this an excellent subject for the challenge. I would stick with this subject and (*)shoot from a variety of angles. Excellent clarity. Roberta

This pepper plant was actually a volunteer in an empty pot in the yard. I gave it no care at all and just watched it change over time. -- Victor
