Thanks Rob! Actially three of the corners are actually floating above the white surface. This contributes to give the image a surreal look. Think of it as a half cube. As far as color goes you are on something. I raised the saturation a bit. This also accentuate the surreal feeling.

nice image and cool idea. *the coasters seem to look very odd, almost unreal. not sure if it is the color saturation of them or the way the top one seems to float. still very nice

The coasters themselves are indeed interesting, so I do believe one could make an interesting photo with these, but this central composition doesn't really engage me. Also, the relatively flat light and white background are un-engaging to me and does not reveal that you built a pyramid - it looks like a cube. I think I would have liked it better as coasters on a dark wood table with an out of focus dark setting and some more directional and vibrant lighting on the coasters themselves. --Olaf

Thanks Earl. Those are in fact 3 tiles used to protect tables from glass (drinks). They are about 3 inches by 3 inches. I ended up scotching them from the back for the shot.

Very interesting photo. Funny thing about it is I have now clue as to the relative size of these "blocks". Are they tiny with a macro shot, or are they book size or bigger? Funny. Neat image. E-
