I dont agree with the idea of the water having to go somewhere - I like the pattern of the action stopped water. Seeing water hit a surface from a tap would have looked pretty boring IMHO.
I do think it might have worked better if there was a little more contrast between the water and the backdrop. I like it though!

Excellent clarity and sharpness on the water and the spigot. But the water goes nowhere. Perhaps a piece of glass under the water where it would make a splash would enliven the shot. Great start!
