All of your comments and suggestions are quite valid. This was almost a grab shot as the kids would not stay still for more than two shots and their excitement was so high that there was no relaxing them. I know it has a lot of faults, but it shows the reality of their demeanor. That's the best thing that might be said of it.

Hi Luther, this shot looks a little too cluttered. All the items around the fireplace and the dogs head appearing from the right distract the eye from the subject. As a suggestion I would try to get in closer to the subject perhaps use a longer lens and a bigger aperature to blur the background a bit. The boy in particular also looks very uncomfortable in his smile. Try to relax the subjects a bit more and take loads of shots to get them used to the camera.
