Just looked out the window but none of that Irish sunlight seems to be shining here (Belfast) at the moment ;)

If I had taken this shot, and I wish I had, I would have cloned out the stalk that cuts into her chin. This is truely a great image. Gee, taken with a Digital Rebel that so many people on "another forum" put down. Didn't anyone tell you that you can't make good pictures with that camera! ;) This is one to be proud of, just a really great image.

This is one excellent shot. It's very rare to have subject and light, you got it.

Setup all the light you want. Direct the subject as much as you want. Plan for months in advance to get the shot you want. You'll never get one as perfect as this. Very nice, Chris. Jim Fuglestad (Shutter)

To Joe: I updated the image dates. Sorry for any inconvenience.

To Luther: I did not intend to mislead but the shot was not taken in Ireland. It struck me after watching her that evening that the sunlight reflected from her was definitely 'Irish Sunlight'.

Regards, Chris.

I just want to add my compliments for this picture. I'm not sure why, but if someone were to ask me where this image was taken, I would have guessed Ireland. It captures what my mind conjures up when I think of Ireland, and I've never been there.

Truly stunning, love the warm beautiful colours of the field coupled with the blue jacket and her golden hair. Great capture...... Vikas

Amazing. I like the fact that the colours of the foreground and her hair are so close and this is then broken by the blue jacket. Its almost as though the earth is giving "birth" to her. Wonderful capture. Well done.

Absolutely beautiful! Love the self-possesed expresion on her face.

Chris: Nice portrait. Wonderful colors and sense of wholesomeness and innocence. Can I ask you to update the shot date to avoid any confusion? Thanks. --Joe

I have to agree with Ralph on this one. Very, very good! Good thing she was wearing a blue jacket, as her face and hair is almost the same color as the background. It is OK though, as the background is so neatly blurred. I think I would try to brighten her eyes a tad. If you'd like to know how I would do that, you can email me at me2@mac.com. --Olaf

Thank you for your kind words. I am very much an amateur and was simply lucky with this shot of my daughter. Regards, Chris.

Absolutely wonderful - I love the colors and the wheat in the foreground. Her expression is precious! Great Job! - Ralph Otto
