Very nice done. I think it's better to crop this photo (bottom) just under the right sleeve of the model.
Also the background - I think it's making very good color contrast...

I love the expression on the boy's face. It's a great shot, but I tend to agree on the color of the background. When selecting a background color myself, though, I tend to come up with blue more often than not.

Hey Phil: I think you can easily get this down-sized and remain in full color. You need to (a) re-size the image to 800 pixels or less in height, and (b)save as a JPEG with some level of compression applied (in Photoshop, 9 or 10 in the quality parameter). Dunno what photo editing software you use, but all support these actions. [Here comes the cliche...]: Check your manual. :-) --Joe

I have a black and white of this, would that be better?

Cute shot. Endearing eyes and prop. One request: Would appreciate it if you could re-size/re-sample to something around 150K. Thanks. --Joe

I disagree. I think the blue backround leaves you no choice but to focus on the subject. Nice capture of facial expression.

Everything works except for the background. I love the facial expression (so adorable)& body language (so natural). However, I think the blue detracts from the subject.
