Phil:
You were absolutely right, but I thought I had done everything possible to reduce the noise with Neat Image. I was wrong. In the process of trying to post-process a better image I have learned quite a bit more about NI. Adjustments such as EV compensation, contrast, saturation, etc. in RAW processing have a more significant effect on noise than I had imagined. To make a long story short: If you shoot at ISO 800 and still need to do a +2 EV compensation the noise pattern will be more like ISO 3200 (not exactly, but close) than 800.
I reprocessed with no EV compensation and then ran NI for ISO 800. I did all the brightness adjustments after that - the resulting image was so clean I actually added some noise to make the skin look better!
You learn something new every day :)

Julio - much better on the face. However (sorry!) I'm now seeing some noise in the darkest part of the hair... Phil

Thanks Lonnit. Disneycoorp probably considers real belly skin too racy for a PG show :)

Excellent capture! I have a hard time with that fake belly skin though... YETCH! Not your fault though! LOL! You did your job superbly. :) ~ Lonnit

Oops... I loaded an earlier darker version originally - Thanks Phil. How is this one?

Julio - great image. At the risk of sounding like Joe, I think you could lighten her face a little - Joe has the technique which he has passed on to me and I think it would work really well here. Phil.
