War of the Roses* (opus I) by Olaf.dk

My very first idea after the theme was announced was this movie title. What I had in mind was red and white roses marching like soldiers in rows and columns towards each other, seen from slightly above and with the stems alternately tilted forward and backwards, like the legs of soldiers. In the middle there would be some fallen soldiers (roses). I bought two bouquets of Roses Friday night (Nov 7), planning to shoot on Saturday. Unfortunately the roses started to wilt and hang with their heads already by Saturday. Also my wife was not feeling well, so I had to take care of my two-year old son most of the day. The roses wilted even more. What to do? How about a picture of all the fallen soldiers? Kind of works well with the wilted flowers, I thought. Very, very pressed for time, here is the result of plan B.

Just checked this out on my monitor at work. BLAH! I need one of those monitor calibrators (eyeOne or Spider?) to put my mind at rest. At home this looks a lot better, hope my monitor at home is the more correct one!!!! --Olaf.dk
