American Pie *
by Phil M

Have you any idea how hard it is to find a company flying the American Flag on a Sunday in the UK?

Updated... The original was created from 2 low quality JPEG's (just to get the image up).
This has now been recreated from the original 2 RAW files, with improved colour and contrast.
Hopefully, the crust now looks cooked (as it was, in fact, ready to eat!)

other sizes: small medium original auto

Another movie I have to find time to see. I'm too young I guess. Nice effect. I like the wrinkles and the title jumps out at you.

Same basic image, significantly improved (I hope...)

Hi Phil. I think the seed of the idea is sound. Getting a concept in this challenge is half the battle. (*)For my own tastes, this pic looks a little flat in both colour and contrast all over. For instance the pastry edge doesn't look cooked ;-) I might have done this shot on a table or worktop with some natural light with a side on view, to give some depth to it. The flag? Simply made on an inkjet printer attached to a cocktail or kebab stick and stuck in the top. The result is still American Pie, just a bit more tasty ;-) Purely IMHO you understand.

I'm glad I'm not the only one making pies ;) Good idea. I first felt like the flag should have been less transparent, but the more I looked at it, the more I thought it was about right.
