A Clock Work Orange
theblue

Just a comment here about these elements.
They are all real and done by layering and blending, there are no cutouts.
The hands fron a Seiko wall clock, the eye from my daughter ,the orange from Woolworths. The background is a green granite benchtop, the camera directly overhead with flash, that's why you can see the slight shadow on the benchtop.

This fits the theme very nicely; it's impossible not to make the connection. (The orange is from Woolworths? Didn't know there were any left around!)--Al Pacheco

theblue – Good idea. Like Olaf I think I would have liked to see the same shadow from the clock hands as was cast buy the orange. Maybe a different background too or it could be just my view from my laptop, it’s older and the screen is not as sharp as my home PC?
Good shot and great Photoshop work.

I like the eye-dea!

The eye is an eye and not a cutout.
There are three elements here.
The Eye,the orange and the hands of the clock.
I juggled the hands on the clock to get the best fit rather than the centre, because the eye is not exactly in the centre.
The eye was enhanced to bring up the colour, and it was one of about 20 shots from brown to green to blue from which I chose.

OK, I had this same film title in mind as a possibility. I like your interpretation! What amazes me the most is how well you made that cut-out look like an eye, especially on the lower edge. The blue eye is a nice contrast to the orange. The clock hands are the least convincing to me. The lighting on them seems wrong compared to the rest of the image and maybe they should cast some shadows? And why are they not in the center of the orange? — Olaf

Oh Gawd, this is great Eric. Very clever. Jim (shutter)
