First of all, I must say I like this. I am attracted by the place. It makes me want to be there! The * in the title made me put on my critical glasses and analyze the photograph. There are a couple of things that bother me: After noticing the person in contrasting color in the middle of the image, my eye seems to wander off to the right and up those stairs. It looks a little like you were attracted to two subjects at once and tried to include both in the same photograph. There are two competing directions in this photograph: one is in the direction the person is looking - out and up to the left, and the other is the direction of the path. The two directions are diverging and never meet, they both point away to outside the frame. I want to see what the person is looking at and I want to see where the stairs will take me. The elements of the photograph are all very nice: the colors of the leaves, the rustic railing, the path and the water. I understand why you tried to include them all, but they just don't "come together" right in my critical analysis. – Olaf

Nice photograph. I like that the person is off the path. And that they are wearing colors not found anywhere else in the shot. Seems like a quiet place to spend some time and think. E-
