The oranges I would readily accept as "part of the picture". It is the plastic bottles that really stand out - a great contrast, which lends a surprise to the image. It also anchors it in modern times. Everything else could (in theory) have been taken hundreds of years ago.

I absolutely love this. Yin Yang! Here's the Buddhist monk, eyes closed, chanting or in serious meditation, standing over the fruits of the earth, a pile of oranges, and one of the most commercial icons in the world, bottled water. What a contrast.
