Thanks all. No, I no longer have an SX70. In fact I never did but I've got a great SX70 story. I'll put that in the thread.

Well done Pops! Minimalism at its best - Grant Hamilton comes to mind!

So you are one of the few who still has your SX-70? The Polaroid frame gives an identity as a contrasty, creative image. The mock-SX70 works quite well, or is it the real thing? -tv

This is most definitely my favorite ever of your crayon images, Pops. Kudos. ~Lydia

For a couple of moments there I thought our old friend, Mr Hamilton, had popped back to add a polaroid to the gallery! :-)

Very dramatic in all respects: lighting, composition, framing... and I think the combination works well. Too arty for words.... literally and figuratively. Regards Nico

Thanks, Mary Anne.

The light source was a single mini maglite flashlight. It's not very strong so it requires a longer exposure. The crayon was 1 1/4" from the front of the lens. At this distance there isn't much DOF so I had to stop the lens down. At 70mm this lens will stop down to f36 so I wasn't at the extreme end. The small aperture also adds to the exposure time.

The simplicity of the image works for me, Pops. And while I'm not crazy about frames, I think that this one really enhances the photo. I'm curious about why you used the exposure you did.
