As Mad as a Hatter

This simile means that someone is crazy or behaves very strangely. In the past many people who made hats went insane because they had a lot of contact with mercury.

Pops, the swirled glassy background certainly gives it a crazy look, but I think the expression on your face is what makes this special.

LOL...you're a good sport, Pops. This works well for the topic and is fun, too. -dtallakson

Gosh O'Hemlocks, what does this say about me? I quit smoking cigarettes almost 30 years ago and I quit smoking a pipe years before that. Yet I still have the pipe and I knew where it was! I must be just a little bit crazy!

Eggsactly! :-) Even just the colourful background add some "zing" to the pic! Thanks and well done! Regards Nico

Thanks, Nico - so you want some to Pop out at you. How about a brightly wild background. Heck, I'm considering posting this upside down. Now that would be really crazy!

Priceless! :-)

The facial expression, the pipe, the glasses and the range of hats - all contribute to making this a nice wacky fun image. Where was this during Creative Self-Portraits? :-) Or was that when you were on a cruise?

What does not work for me? Can I be honest and I say it lacks that kind of "Pops-finesse" we have become used to when it comes to lighting... perhaps intentionally?... but we know your exceptional work with IKEA and painting-with-light! Hope this does not come across as being too harsh.

Your contributions are always valued and enjoyed! :-) Kind regards Nico

Hey, Pops, right now I'm wearing a shirt that's got the exact same plaid as yours!
