Agree with Penny - nice to see the frame go.

That's interesting, Jim. When the exposure is not as long, more of those little explosions at the end show. I don't know what kind of metal I was grinding, actually. It was a painter's flat thingy. *grin* I use it for spreading drywall compound. But, not anymore... it's all dinged up. *grin again*

My Beloved majored in Metalurgical Engineering. He talks that way to me, too. I just nod my head... *grin one more time*

THANKS for your comment. ~Lydia

This is great, and right on topic. In a machining/metallurgy class I once took, it was explained how you can tell the approximate carbon content of the steel by looking at the sparks. If they fly out, then explode like little fireworks, it's got higher carbon content.

I see a few of those little explody-thingies, but not a lot. What kind of metal were you grinding on?

And was your lens wearing the appropriate eye protection?

Lovely and right on topic! Jim H.

Thanks, folks. It was fun to do this.

Penny... just for you... :) ~Lydia

Oh wow! looks like fireworks (only better)! My only complaint here is the border - the sparks are trying to burst out of the edges of this one and get stuck. Mind you, I understand that you like to live within the frame, but maybe it could be just a one line thingy? (just an idea and only my opinion, I might add).

This is way cool (or should I say hot?) Lydia! Are you aiming to host back to back?
