No.64

Beaverton, OR

No.64 is a small wood and brass folding 12" ruler that belonged to my husbands grandfather, who was an engineer. The first tool I thought of when I saw the challenge, was No.64. I spent a lot of time with No.64 and felt that I couldn't quite capture the rich beauty of this tool. So, half-heartedly, I post this photo. Cropped and shadow added with Picassa2.

I like the subject and the warm tones in this. Nice. --Melanie

Thanks for the comments, still I am so unhappy with the lighting for this shot. Perhaps I will be afforded another challenge opportunity to photograph No.64 in the future.

These are nice Lisa - different measuring tools for different needs. I especially like #64 and the warm tones contrasting with the blue cloth and the dark background. CJ

I think this is my favorite of your three. I especially like the warm tones.

Another beautifully constructed image. Problem: which one to vote for. Good way to scatter the vote. -tv
