...this is one set from one site from a number of sites around the world....all of them eventually will be flown to an island off of Iceland to be part of an ImaginePeace tower, which you can see here:

and more broadly, here:

From my perspective what is important is the raw power of these Wishing Trees to pull things out of people...to maybe even give them hope. The first time I saw them, I thought, oh posh, this is silly.
The second time I saw them and read the wishes, I was touched. The third time, tonight, I decided to photograph them. I'm not sure this is the best of the series, photographically, but it will do in that I need to get out of here, (out of the office).
What is so moving are the attached wishes, "I wish my brother would be cured of Cerebral Palsy, and could walk again." or, a simple, plaitive cry, "I Wish My Husband Were Happier," or, "I wish people were less greedy and capitalistic, I wish people would help each other more."
I haven't added my wish yet because I have decided that there is some powerful charm or Jin attached to these Wishing Trees...I don't want to waste my wish nor abuse the privilege these Wishing Trees provide....I don't want to soil any of this with a base wish of mine.
So I'm waiting, thinking...What should I wish for?
