Dozens of honey bees found on the snow around the hives. Many more -- probably a few hundred,
were scattered over the snow in an swath that seemed to go to the east for about 30-40 meters.
Temperature was about -12C (10F). Strong sunlight.
A small flock of chickadees in the cedar bushes behind we seen diving down to grab something
off the snow from time to time. We didn't get a good enough look to see what they were taking,
but suspect it was the bees.
