Thanks for the ID correction and the comments, bugme. It was a little difficult to photograph as it kept flying at the camera lens and sticking to it while I was trying to focus! Thanks again. -croc

Actually, this is a fly in the family Pyrgotidae. Most are nocturnal parasites of adult May beetles (Phyllophaga). Never seen this species before. They are usually uncommon anyway. Nice find:-)
