chancel arch & chancel

I think the roof is a later version based on the original, but with a lot more bolts and things. The pair of principal's pews are bundled into the middle during building works. Not sure if the thing on the corner is a cross or a 2 hander sword; they got these things somewhat muddled during the period of the crusades

Yes, swords and crosses did seem to get muddled during the Crusades era! Fabulous shot of this ancient interior. VV
