Castlemorton church nave

Castlemorton, Worcestershire

It really hits you as you go in that the nave walls and arcade are leaning spectacularly, so I have dealt with the verticals as accurately as possible and it is not lens distortion. Not sure if the lights help or not. The main door just visible on the left is one of a pair of C12th openings remaining and the doors look pretty ancient too

There is some unavoidable distortion in the pictures. It is only the left (north wall) that leans and not quite as scary as it looks in the picture. From the outside you would see that the wall looks much closer to the vertical following restoration work undertaken in 1879.

It's a wonder that the church is still standing with walls at those angles. I like the lights - I'm a sucker for star shapes.
