I was kayaking at one of my favorite ponds yesterday, photographing loons, when they all started calling frantically. Chicks crawled under wings and adults were very agitated. I turned around to witness a very small bird chasing after an eagle. I got several OK shots, considering I was in a boat and had no time to set my camera. These photos have been enhanced in various ways as they are not "tack-sharp". Taken with a Canon 30D and 70-300 lens from a kayak. I think this bird is banded-will have to ask the local bird experts about it.
